Harrogate Hospital Radio Appoints Vice Chair
To support the ongoing success of Harrogate Hospital Radio, Barbara Nixon has been appointed Vice Chair, alongside her additional role of Community Liaison Officer and Presenter.
As Harrogate Hospital Radio approach their 50th anniversary, Barbara will provide support and assistance to the Chair, Mark Oldfield, in carrying out his responsibilities, supporting the strategic direction of the charity. Barbara will work alongside Mark further developing the already strong relationship with Harrogate District Foundation Trust staff and patients, members and sponsors.
Barbara who has been a volunteer at Harrogate Hospital Radio for two years said ‘’I love being a part of Harrogate Hospital Radio. It was something I always wanted to do, from being a teenager, but life just got in the way. I then got a chance of meeting another presenter at a mutual friend’s party, this gave me the opportunity to apply and it was one of the best things I ever did. The people are fantastic and I’m so proud of the work that we do within the hospital and community.
Harrogate Hospital Radio provides entertainment on 95.3FM, online, on their free APP and on your smart speaker to patients, staff, and visitors of Harrogate District Hospital. Harrogate Hospital Radio is a Registered Charity (No. 507137), wholly voluntary led and rely on fundraising and donations to provide their service.
Barbara continues to present her three weekly shows, Kitchen Dance Party on Thursday’s (13:00 – 14:00), Chill Out with Martin and Barb on a Friday (15:00 – 16:00), followed by Feel Good Friday (16:00 – 18:00).
