I started as a (mobile) DJ at a very early age. Like a lot of DJ’s at that time, my ultimate goal was to make it a career and end up on Radio 1. As none of you will ever have heard of me, you can tell exactly what became of that idea!
I started as a (mobile) DJ at a very early age. Like a lot of DJ’s at that time, my ultimate goal was to make it a career and end up on Radio 1. As none of you will ever have heard of me, you can tell exactly what became of that idea!
So, after a number of years in the DJ wilderness, I decided to get back into it and, thanks to the “invention” of internet radio it was very easy. Learning from my past experience, I don’t have any goals in mind other than to have some fun and hopefully have some listeners to my inane ramblings, musical choices and occasionally hard quiz questions!
I have always wanted to get involved with Hospital Radio and now do my Quick Quiz Show, which is a format that I devised myself. It’s on Wednesday afternoon from 4am to 6pm. From January 2015, the format will be changed slightly to where all the questions will be on the music of yester-year; from approx the 50s to the 90s. There will also be a new “Who Am I?” section where you have to guess the identity of an recent artist or group from six given clue.
My “Nineties Number Ones” show is currently on Thursdays from 6pm.
I also fill in on the Request shows when required.
For Harrogate Hospital Radio I am a Presenter, the Minutes Secretary, one of the webmasters, produce the monthly Programme Guide and some other sundry Admin duties as well.
Oh yes, and my real name is Carl Waring!
Harrogate Hospital Radio is 100 percent volunteer led and we are always on the lookout for individuals to join our talented team of volunteers!
